Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, bringing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around one thousand households in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
